Hopalong's updates

Because I don't get about much these days I don't have a lot to report, just the boring statement that not a lot had happened in the last 3 weeks since I became Hopalong. We did go to a 007 dinner last Saturday, all in evening wear, I managed to hide my plaster leg okay, only not my crutches, but these were quite a conversation topice, and everyone rushed about getting me a chair and were careful of me. But we all had a wonderful time and I didn't fall over once; when you think the evening started with a vodka martini (with olive) "shaken not stirred". Sorry there isn't a pix of us in our finery as I forgot my camera in all the excitement of getting out of the house.
Next morning we all had a 'lie-in' even the Jellie!!
the bed was too small as neither Jed nor me are in this pix We lasted till mid day although Jed got a little agitated as his early morning walk was cancelled. They did get a good one at 12 pm.
Then on Wednesday we went to the sea side and while I stayed in the car reading my enormous book, then the Jellies & John went off into the dunes. The Jellies had a ball and even managed to catch and kill a rabbit their first!
Unfortunately our favourite seaside caff was closed so by the time they got back it was after 3pm. We went into Littlehampton itself and found of all places a Portuguese deli who had wonderful coffee and even better or favourite Madeira cake "pastel de nata" the real thing.
After that we went along east to the very end of Littlehampton, and John gave Jed & Nellie another walk and discovered this amazing restaurant it was a work of art. Took 18 month from its start till the finish, the design was based on drift wood, and it was quite fascinating, and the food was absolutely great! Welcome to EAST BEACH CAFE
"Delicious recipes from the jaw-droppingly modern cafe that has just beached in Littlehampton"Sunday Telegraph Magazine Our spectacular building, designed by Thomas Heatherwick, sits right on the beach in Littlehampton, West Sussex. The East Beach Cafe serves delicious food every day, all year round and is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. They have 45 seats inside, all with a great view of the sea, and 80 seats on decking outside as well as a take-away kiosk for those who prefer to eat on the beach. Unfortunately the pix doesn't do it justice.
Any way that is it from Hopalong thought I would change my image.

Sounds to me your life is anything but boring. I wish I could sit in bed all day long, no such luck with the two kids and Darren out of town I'm lucky if I get to lie in past 8am... It's weird I tried to click on your photo to have a good look of the cafe but it didn't enlarge. Odd! Sounds interesting though.

great post! that walk on the beach and the portuguese caff makes me want to hop over... louise, you get to lie in in another roughly 10 years, store up your desire to do so and it will feel that much better, and anita with a 2 and a half year old and a 7 month old can't even dream of that yet...
